Synopsis:

Sometimes playing cat and mouse is no game...Play? Right. My Pride is under fire from all sides, my father's authority is in question and my lover is in exile. Which means I haven't laid eyes on Marc's gorgeous face in months. And with a new mother and an I-know-everything teenager under my protection, I don't exactly have time to fantasize about ever seeing him again.

Then our long-awaited reunion is ruined by a vicious ambush by strays. Now our group is under attack, Marc is missing and I will need every bit of skill and smarts to keep my family from being torn apart. Forever.

My rating: ★★★★☆

Major Spoilers! So before you click on 'View Spoiler' think about it...do you really want this book ruined? Unless you've already read the book, then go ahead :)lol

I think this book is a perfect example of an emotional rollercoaster.  There were parts where I was LMAO, others where I was pissed off, others where I was very excited, and others where I was just crying my eyeballs out (which of course, is anatomically impossible, lol).  Not that this is a bad thing…I love a book with emotion! It’s what makes it great :D

So Marc has been exiled from the Pride…not that I care. But, of course, Faythe does *rolls eyes dramatically* Then we have Manx who is going to trial for killing all those toms (and she just had her baby…a boy). And then there’s Kaci who is still refusing to Shift…and that’s killing her slowly. Stubborn kitten -_- lol

It seems like Faythe has a lot on her plate at the moment (did I forget to mention that her dad has been removed as Head of the Territorial Council?) But that’s nothing compared to what is coming her way.

While she and two other enforcers (one of them being Ethan *sighs* hehe) escort Manx to her hearing, Faythe meets up with Marc (*gags*) This is possible because they are passing though Free Territory, which is where Marc is. However, along the way they were ambushed by strays… and a lot of them too. Most obvious reason for this: two tabbies in the free territory (the tabbies being Faythe and Manx, of course).

So after the ambush and after they left the free territory (and Marc) behind, they dropped off Manx at the di Carlo house for her hearing. Faythe and the guys go home where Faythe was going to try to convince Kaci to Shift. And that’s when Dan Painter calls to let them know that Marc is missing *cue dramatic music* And again, not caring. Although, I was having other feelings…*does happy dance secretly* :P
Anyway...come on!! This is Marc! How can someone just take him?

So naturally, Faythe goes out to look for him. They don’t find him, but what they do find is that strays all over the free territory have been implanted with tracking devices without their knowledge!

WTF?!

Yep, my exact reaction lol

So Faythe (and the enforcers she had with her) goes back home to show their Alpha what they found, and also because Kaci is getting worse.  (And if you really care to know, they sent out a whole bunch of people to look for Marc.)  So while the grown-ups were talking, Kaci was sent out for a walk with the Wonder Twins…God I love them *sighs*

What they didn’t know was that Malone (I hate that guy-_-) sent out a few cats to take Kaci, since Faythe and her father wouldn’t give her up voluntarily. And that’s when it happened…the horrible tragedy that made me cry like there was no tomorrow.

But this one incident brought Jace and Faythe together (reminder: Marc is still missing)!! I was sooo excited! The whole time I was grinning like a crazy person! But then Faythe had to go and ruin the moment -_- Jeeze Faythe, its Jace…why don’t you just enjoy the moment?! I just don’t understand why Faythe would choose Marc over Jace! I mean, Jace is soo sweet, charming, and gorgeous with those adorable dimples…*sighs* there’s just something about a guy with dimples. And Marc, well, because I said I would try to stop the hating, all I have to say is that he needs major anger management!
And I brought the subject back to Marc…great! (note sarcasm) Faythe goes back out to find Marc. And just when they find Marc, things get a little twisty.

So far I really like this series…a lot! I just wish there was more Jace action. And I feel the need to mention that I will always be Team Wonder Twins, no matter what. Love Ethan forever...

Have you read this book? If so, what did you think about it? If not, what do you think? Does it sound like something you might want to read? Leave me a comment! :)
