Synopsis:

Being the first female werecat enforcer isn't easy. Scars accumulate, but I'm stronger in so many ways.

As for my personal life? It's complicated. Choices worth making always are. Ever since my brother's death and my father's impeachment, it's all I can do to prevent more blood from spilling. Now our Pride is under attack by a flight of vicious thunderbirds. And making peace with our new enemies may be the only way to get the best of our old foe.

With the body count rising and treachery everywhere, my instincts tell me to look before I leap. But sometimes a leap of faith is the only real option...

My rating: ★★★★★

Gah!! I love this series!! And I know, I pretty much repeat this over and over in every review of every book in the series…but it’s the truth! I think this is probably another of my favorite books in the series as well :) Rachel, you are a genius!!!!

So, as we all know, Faythe’s Dad and Malone have been battling over who gets to be the head of the Territorial Council. I wasn’t surprised to find that Malone has been playing dirty to get that position. First of all, one of Malone’s guys killed Ethan *sniffles*…I miss Ethan :( I hate Malone sooo much…there’s no way to describe it! And not only do I hate him because of Ethan, but also because he made Jace’s childhood as bad as possible (did I mention that he’s Jace’s step dad? Terrible, right)!

And it gets even worse...

When I read “Now our Pride is under attack by a flight of vicious thunderbirds” in the back of the book, for some reason I thought it was some sort of metaphor. I think it’s probably because I read it way to quickly or somethin’…I was really excited to start the book. Can you blame me? lol. Anyway, I soon found out that that phrase was not a metaphor. They had made Ethan’s grave in the back of the house next to an apple tree. Kaci stopped there on their way to the barn, when all of a sudden this huge thunderbird swoops down and carries her away!  My reaction: Whoaaaa!! What the hell just happened?!

No worries though, Faythe and Owen get her back :) But then it happens again -_- Plus, the thunderbirds decided to perch themselves on the house’s roof…great, huh? (Note sarcasm). It turns out that these thunderbirds (which I like to call werebirds because of the fact that they turn from human to the birds and vice versa :P) had a reason behind trying to take Kaci…and Faythe for that matter (yes, they took her as well the second time around). I already had my guess…Malone. Big DUH, right? Anyway, one of the thunderbirds was killed, and a werecat was involved.

They couldn’t even step out in their backyard because the thunderbirds were right there ready to pick at them! Did I mention they are enormous? There is no way the werecats can defeat a Flight of thunderbirds…especially since they fly and cats…well, don’t.

Anyway, while the Flight is terrorizing Faythe’s Pride, Faythe and Kaci are stuck in the Flights nest. And there is only one way they can get out: Faythe has to prove that her Pride was not involved in killing the thunderbird. So with the help of Marc and Jace, Faythe goes out in search of proof that Malone was the one involved (like me, Faythe also suspected him).

And now that I brought the subject to Marc and Jace, let me mention that things for Faythe are getting more and more complicated. But they don’t have to be, all Faythe has to do is choose Jace. But does she? NO! *sighs* Anyway, Jace and Faythe have been trying to hide what happened between them after Ethan’s death (*tear*) from Marc. But Marc is bound to find out sooner or later. But having that Marc is possessive, overprotective, and gets pissed of easily (his words, not mine…but I agree :P), well just imagine what my poor Jace will go through…Gah!! I hate Marc! I just don’t know how Faythe finds that attractive!

I am 100% Team Jace ;) And I cannot wait to start on Alpha!! Can’t believe the series is coming to an end, it’s just sooo amazing!!

Have you read this book? If so, what did you think about it? If not, what do you think? Does it sound like something you might want to read? Leave me a comment! :)
