Spring Break Read-A-Thon!

Guys, guess what? As of 9:30 AM today I am officially on...

*Happy dance* Oh my gods, I survived quarter 2 out of 7 of nursing school (and got A's on both of my finals! Woot woot!)...so proud of myself *grins* So now that I don't have to worry about school for one and a half weeks, it's time for me to catch up on my reading and reviewing! I've got quite a few books to read and reviews to write, so this will be the time for that. Below I have listed my to-read books and I'll be updating the list as I go. I will also try to update my reading status on Goodreads and/or Twitter plus I am also thinking of writing up a blog post at the end of each day to document my progress. My read-a-thon will go from today (March 19th) to March 31st (gotta go back to school on the 1st, unfortunately =/)

To-Read:

Goddess Inheritance (Goddess Test #3) by Aimee Carter [currently reading]
Dark Genesis by Dave Ferraro
Glitch (Glitch #1) by Heather Anastasiu
Override (Glitch #2) by Heather Anastasiu

The Nightmare Affair (The Arkwell Academy #1) by Mindee Arnett
Hide and Seek (Games of Zeus #1) by Aimee Laine
Silent Echos (Games of Zeus #2) by Aimee Laine
Deep Betrayal (Lies Beneath #2) by Anne Greenwood Brown

Hysteria by Megan Miranda
My Ex From Hell (The Blooming Goddess Trilogy #1) by Tellulah Darling
Spellbinding by Maya Gold
Proximity by M.A. George

Godsmacked by by Paul Cicchini
The New Death and Others by James Hutchings
Narrative Loserdom by Ryan Collins
Sliding Beneath the Surface (The St. Augustine Trilogy #1) by Doug Dillon

That's 16 books in 13 days. My goal, originally, was to read all of these books. But now, I think I'm gonna go for reading at least one book a day. That's at least 13 books, which is still a pretty attainable goal :)

I am SO excited!! After all that studying and all the hair pulling and binging on chocolate ice cream (AKA stress!) I am ecstatic to have this time for myself to just read something non-school-related. Eeeep! And if anyone wants to join me on this read-a-thon, feel free! You can choose as many or as little books as you'd wish, and just leave me a link to your post in the comments so I can check it out! This is going to be fun!!

Know Me Better (#4)

I have decided to join Inspired Kathy from I Am A Reader, Not A Writer, in this fun weekly post. Here we take 5 questions from our Author Interview list and answer them in a post. I highly encourage you, my readers, to answer theses long with me. Not only do I want you guys to get to know me better, but it would be great if I got to know my readers better, as well!

Things you’d rather be doing right this moment:

Being out doing something fun, as opposed to studying. That or reading a non-school related book.

Time wasters:

Hmm, can't think of anything, really (My brain must really be fried after all that homework I did! lol)

Books they should make into movies:

  • Croak by Gina Damico
  • Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
  • Touch of Frost by Jennifer Estep (!!!)
  • Incarnate by Jodi Meadows
  • Eve Hallows and the Book of Shrieks by Robert Gray
  • Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake (This one would make such a great horror movie!)
  • My Fair Godmother (books 1 AND 2) by Janette Rallison
  • Ghost Hand by Ripley Patton
It's always a bad idea to ask me to list books about something 'cause I always have these looong lists! lol

Things you wish you knew before getting into nursing school:

That the first quarter in fact, is NOT the hardest. And that things actually DO NOT get easier as they go. From my 2 quarters so far, I fell like I've been lied to, lol. I am hoping, however, that things WILL get easier as I go. 1st quarter was a piece of cake compared to this one! And I've still got 5 quarters to go.......wish me luck!

Games you like to play:

Pfft, like I have time to play, lol. I do like to play games on my free time though:

  • Super Mario Bros on Wii
  • Thrillville on Wii or PS2
  • Uno
  • Solitaire
  • Brain Age on Nintendo DS
Those are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Now it's your turn! Share an answer to one or more of these questions as a comment or post your answers on your blog and leave me a link here!

Know Me Better (#3)

I have decided to join Inspired Kathy from I Am A Reader, Not A Writer, in this fun weekly post. Here we take 5 questions from our Author Interview list and answer them in a post. I highly encourage you, my readers, to answer theses long with me. Not only do I want you guys to get to know me better, but it would be great if I got to know my readers better, as well!

1. Books You Are Dying to Read:

This question sucks because there are SO many I want to read! Let's see, there's:
  • The Rising (Darkness Rising #3) by Kelley Armstrong
  • Spartan Frost (Mythos Academy #4.5) Jennifer Estep (!!LOGAN, OhMyGods!!)
  • Midnight Frost (Mythos Academy #5) Jennifer Estep
  • Unhinged (Splintered, #2) A.G. Howard
  • Enchantment (Spellbound, #3) Nikki Jefford
  • Unravel Me (Shatter Me, #2) Tahereh Mafi
  • Ghost Hold (The PSS Chronicles, #2) Ripley Patton
  • Anything by Rick Riordan, really
  • Clockwiser (Clockwise, #2) Elle Strauss
  • Unchosen (The Reaper Diaries, #2) Michele Vail
  • With All My Soul (Soul Screamers, #7) Rachel Vincent
And yes I realize some of these have come out already, I just haven't gotten them yet!

2. Foods you wish you could eat and never gain a pound:

Ice cream (I'm eating chocolate ice cream as I write this...it's all the stress, I tell ya! lol), and really, anything sweet that's not good for you! lol

3. Things you have in your purse/bag/wallet now:
  • Phone
  • Compact mirror
  • This lens cleaning wipe for my glasses
  • Stray cotton swabs
  • Post-it notes and a pen
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Baby Lips chapstick
  • Some papers from the breakfast fundraiser for nursing I went to this morning
  • Wallet
  • Cassette adapter for my iPod
I'm surprised I didn't find any loose change or stray bobby pins...those are usually all over the place, lol.

4. Movies you never want to see again:
  • The Notebook - Ugh, chick flicks....had to watch this one in class one time because of the dementia aspect of it. Never again, I tell ya! These movies are not for me.
  • Any of the Twilight movies - It's not that I hate them, per se. But back in the day, when I was a Certified Twilight Freak I watched them SO many FREAKIN' times I am now sick of them! And actually, I have yet to see BD part 2, so that one is the exception.
  • Avatar - Did not like this one, and frankly the big, blue alien things freak me out!
  • The Nightmare Before Christmas - I love horror movies, but for some reason this one freaks me out! I don't know why, but it does, and I just cant watch it! *shudders*
  • Any of the Saw movies -  This is not horror, this is just disgusting! I can't watch these either.
5. Movies you watch over and over again:
  • The Avengers (I've already lost count as to how many times I've seen this movie so far this year...I watched it yesterday, though! :D)
  • Captain America (Eeep! LOVE him! Was watching this one this morning :))
  • Iron Man (1 and 2. LOVE Tony Stark!)
  • I've re-watched many of other Marvel movies, as well.
  • Devil (I've re-watched this one a couple of times...I love horror movies!)
  • Tangled (SO cute!)

Blogoversary Giveaway!

Lili Lost in a Book is turning 2!! *throws virtual confetti everywhere and blows a noise maker!* March is my blog's blogoversary month, and to celebrate I am having a giveaway (it's international!) Also, I never ask that you follow me in order to enter a giveaway, a simple comment will suffice. But since this is my blogoversary and the giveaway is to thank my followers, following this blog will be mandatory. So THANK YOU to all my followers and awesome readers! Love you all!!

Okay, so I'm gonna have TWO winners. Each winner will get to choose ONE book from above PLUS they will get a matching page corner monster bookmark! Also, everyone who leaves me a comment will get one of these (Enter through the rafflecopter form for this):

Page corner monster bookmark!!
And gosh, I have all this book swag just sitting around...what shall I do with it all?? ;)

You know you want ;)
Everyone who leaves a comment on any of my reviews will get ONE bookmark from above (the Aurora Sky swag are actually door hangers...pretty cool, right?). (Do this by clicking the Reviews tab above and scrolling through the reviews, or use the Search This Blog box located in the sidebar.) Now, you can comment on a different review everyday, so if you comment once you get one bookmark, but if you comment on more than one review you'll get up to TWO bookmarks! (Offer valid while bookmarks last, of course). Which ones will you get, you ask? That will be a surprise! (Entering through the rafflecopter form is needed for this, too.)

The Rules and Other-Important-Stuff-You-Should-Probably-Read:

  • The winner(s) will be notified by e-mail on March 29th and will have 48 hours to claim the prize, otherwise a new winner will be chosen. (So please, when you sign in to the Rafflecopter form, use an e-mail you check often and double check that it is correct.)

Thank you guys for all your support, and here's to hoping for another great year of blogging, reading, and other bookish stuff (if nursing school doesn't kill me first, that is ;))
