Synopsis:

Yee-Haw! Mel’s out west and murder isn’t far behind.

While on vacation with her aunt and Jackie on a dude ranch in South Dakota, a dead body shows up in her room. In an area she does not know very well it is up to Mel and her friends to solve the mystery. During the investigation Rachel shows up and so does the ghost of Jedidiah: a man who died in the late 1800s.

With one turn after another Mel soon finds herself on a treasure hunt. Can she and her friends solve the murder and find the treasure before the killer finds them?

My rating: ★★★☆☆

Mel and Jackie are off on vacation at a ranch with none other than Aunt Ethel. Crazy, I know. But things get even more interesting when Rachel shows up as well! So, they're getting all settled in their rooms when all of a sudden...

"Jackie," I replied, "it's not as though dead bodies fall at my feet."
I opened the closet to put Aunt Ethel's suggested outfit in there; maybe the monster in the closet would eat it so I wouldn't have to explain to her why I never wore it. Just as I opened the door, out fell a body, landing right before my feet. So much for famous last words.

BAM! Dead body! Mel finds herself in the middle of a murder once more. Surprised? You shouldn't be, lol. In the middle of this murder mystery there is also a treasure hunt dating back many, many years, which is what Mel and friends focus on, surprisingly. Little do they know that the murder probably ties back in with this treasure...

The change of scenery, at the ranch, was nice, but if I'm being honest with myself I really missed the town! And Greg! He was left behind :( Boo! He hasn't been around too much lately in the series and it makes me sad 'cause he is just so sweet and awesome and hopefully he'll be around more in the future.

Although I missed the regular characters and the town, Aunt Ethel was a lot of fun! The mystery was interesting enough, though not as great as the others. But, I am loving this series! :)
